The Back to School Fashion Staples Your Daughter Needs (Part 2)

It’s about that time again-the time when back to school fashion is the word on everyone’s lips and parents spend the better part of their summer income to outfit their kids for school. Guess what? Back to school fashion doesn’t have to cost you a fortune! For a fraction of what you’re going to pay if you give in to your little girl’s shopping lust you can equip her with a wardrobe that’s going to look great well past the first two weeks of school.

Tops

We talked about jeans yesterday, now let’s take a look at the number and style of shirts she’s going to need. It’s easier to start with bottoms than tops, so hopefully you got your jeans first! From that point you can pick up some clever mix and match pieces. I recommend one shirt to go with each outfit, one plain black top and one white top. up for a second look.

If you live in a colder clime you’re going to want to add a minimum of one plain colored sweater, on zippered overcoat (preferably a spring style jacket) and one or two big, baggy sweaters to the mix, as well as three or four long sleeved shirts to get her through the days when the school heating system just isn’t cutting it. Don’t worry, you can dig through some of her winter clothes from last year! Jackets and sweats don’t usually go out of style, so you should be able to get plenty of use out of them.
